"Here reigns supreme a man of the world; someone who depends not upon currency, electricity, clothes, housing or shops to give him status or keep him alive. There is no such thing as 'handouts' in his world. If he is hungry, he hunts, catches, kills and cooks his own food. His light is the sun and his warmth is provided by the fires that he starts with the rubbing of sticks to ignite some bracken from the bush that surrounds him. His garments come from the hides of animals he killed and skinned with his own hands and his humble house is made from earth, water, straw, mud, wood and the sweat of his brow in the heat of the mid-day sun. Though many in the western world consider him to be among the poorest of the poor, I don't; for in his heart of memories and tales of old, he carries a civilisation that none outside his village can ever truly know. He is the most magnificent of human species and is endowed with the heart of a lion. The world started in Africa and it is fitting that it one day ends there." William Forde: September 2nd, 2013.
