"There is a great mystery out there to solve that will take a lifetime to fathom and which may never be answered to full satisfaction. Tell me world, does not the same sun and moon shine down on all God's people in equal measure, and if so, why do the divisions between the richest and poorest inexorably grow greater year upon year? Why do one half of the globe experience famine and starvation while the other half feed their faces with food that is guaranteed to kill instead of improve life?
I know that 70% of the world is covered by water and 30% is covered by land, but that doesn't represent the full picture as there is a substrate below the ground upon which we walk and almost never see. Because we do not see this valuable and substantial layer of our world, we have a tendency to put it from our mind and ignore its presence. When we consider the soil beneath the ground to the core of the earth, the true ratio between the 'total' land and water mass is 97% and 3% respectively.
It is as though there is a substrate above our world land mass surface as well as below it; a large section of our world that we tend to ignore, especially when it is out of sight. Is it therefore coincidental that people of the developed world have access to over 90% of the world's drinking water as well as the world's resources and wealth?
There seems to be a discriminatory and sinful symmetry that exists around the world which is hard to fit into any acceptable equation of human civilisation. If the adults of the world cannot or will not sort out this blatant injustice, then let us hope that the young will not be as blind to the wrong and scream out, 'Me and my generation will when we grow up!'"
