"Come out of hiding and don't be afraid to show yourself to the world for you are beautiful to behold. Once you find out who you are, be you on purpose. True beauty and confidence begins the moment you decide to be yourself. Even the insane refuse to hide their madness from the world so why should you forever live in the shade and dull your shine for others.
I have seen truly attractive women think themselves ugly, slim people think themselves fat and clever folk think themselves dumb. Worse of all was to see a person who had everything going for them, but didn't know it! I rejoiced in my Assertion Training Groups of the 70s when I worked with a people who believed themselves to be pussy cats and then eventually found in themselves, a tiger who refused to be disregarded and put down ever again.
So however clever you feel another to be, however wise, however competent, however powerful and influential, put them on a pedestal by all means if you must, but never at the expense of your own self image. If the only way you can elevate another is through demeaning and putting oneself down, then it is no more than a false compliment you pay them or greater injustice you do yourself.
If you want to stop feeling trapped in your life, don't let others influence your responses and box you into a corner by their wants, their wishes and their will; things that you don't want, wish or will! Come out of hiding and learn to stand your ground for what you believe in. As Oscar Wilde said, 'Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.'" William Forde: February 4th, 2016.
