"Today is my son Adam's 40th birthday. I wish you the happiest of birthdays, Son. I love you and am proud of you, especially your capacity to care for others. I know that you are happier today since you met Kaz than ever before, and knowing that, means more to me than you could ever know.
The one thing about all decent parents is that they never stop worrying about the happiness, health and welfare of their offspring. Even when they get to 40 years of age, they are still one's children, so we still worry. I have to say though, that seeing you more settled and happier this past year since you moved up north from London has pleased and reassured me immeasurably. Happy birthday Adam.
