"An old Native American called Blackfoot is reported to have said that no warrior stands as tall as when he bends down to help a child. Were we ever to enrol upon a course in Miracles, we'd undoubtedly learn early on that giving and receiving are one in truth; they are essentially indivisible. Every time you give out love, you receive love in return with interest.
Shall we make a new rule of life from tonight: always try to be a little kinder than is necessary, especially to little ones. Far too often in life we know what we ought to do, but for one reason or another we don't finish up doing it. We become too wrapped up in our own busy life making a dollar instead of taking a few minutes out to make a difference in the life of another. It is far easier to take notice, but is more difficult and requires commitment to take action.
Our time spent on earth is but a short lease in the span of time itself, and the service we give to others is the rent demanded of us. What we do for ourselves dies with us, but what we do for others lives on after our departure. So let us end this day by promising to make tomorrow a better one and before you settle down, put another feather in your cap; you deserve it!" William Forde: November 3rd, 2015.
