"Thought for today:
"I don't know how anyone in this world can believe that they are not destined to find true love, at least once in their life. Providing you are a good person who values honesty, is sensitive to feelings, respects the beliefs of others, loves nature and animals, is able to converse, listen, laugh, share, remain true to self, loyal to others and faithful in all of your dealings; providing you value all these things, then all you need to do is to hang around and someone suitable who loves you is bound to pass your way.
As my mother frequently told me whenever I expressed too much impatience, 'If anything is worth having, Billy, then it's worth waiting for!' And I'm sure that also included finding a loving mate. She also advised that it is better to wait for the right one rather than settle for second best just because it's on offer now. Sadly this was one piece of advice I didn't follow when I first married and I was left to discover that life is too short to waste on the wrong one.
It is well known that the only advice we are prone to take, is when the advice given goes along with what we want and echoes the feelings of our own hearts. Therefore, like many before me I rushed into love in my early twenties without realising that love never runs out and there was no need to hurry. Had I waited more patiently and let love be the one to knock on my door instead of forever looking for it, by the time I started to feel it, I'd have known it to be the real thing; what I feel for my wife Sheila now.
In life, there are many things that we hope and dream for, with love of a soul mate being one of the most important. Occasionally we fail to distinguish sexual compatibility with emotional closeness or confuse friendship with love. Whereas close friendship can often end in love; love in friendship; never!
If you are wise, wait for the one who pursues you with passion in their eyes and soul; the one who will make the ordinary moment seem magical and unforgettable. Wait for the one who brings out the best in you and makes you want to be a better person. Wait for the one who will be your best friend; the one who will place your feelings above all others, the one who will share your pain and happiness until the end of time. So wait and know that true love will surely pass your way if you allow it to touch you in its presence." William Forde: August 3rd, 2015
